GameDevClub: Top-down Game Teacher Notes

Students will learn how to make a fun, top-down RPG game. They'll program a player character than can move in four directions through a series of dungeons that they'll build from existing tiles. They will populate their rooms and hallways with enemy characters that chase and battle the player. They'll use different animations on characters, and they'll program interactive objects like doors, switches, spike traps, and health potions. Then they will go on to create their own quests that friendly characters can give them by talking to them. Finally, they'll add an inventory to their game for collecting items.

There are also a variety of bonus activities to add additional features to their game.
