Pythagoras of Samos

Pythagoras, was best known as a Greek mathematician, but he was also a philosopher and founder of the religious movement called Pythagoreanism.

He was born between 580 and 572 BC, and died between 500 and 490 BC. He is best known for the proof of the important Pythagorean theorem, which is about right triangles, he is said to have proved that it would always be true.
