Task 3 - World Building

Now it's time to design your game world!

Where is your game going to be set? What's the name of the world, jungle, desert, ancient city, or military camp?

Have a look in Gamefroot to see what's available in your terrains and then describe your level in as much detail as possible (although no more than 300 words please!).

To recap, you need a blog post that includes...

  • One Level Description (no more than 300 words)
  • Your level must have a name
  • Talk about the terrain (trees, rocks, background)
  • Talk about any specials features you'll have (buildings, hazards, moving platforms)
  • Talk about the Mood you want to have in each level (Gloomy, Cheerful, Military, Gothic...)

And next...how do you keep you player engaged with your game?

By REWARDING your player during your level. Give them a new weapon or a clue to the next part of the level that will make them want to explore further. If they go...'ok, I'll just check out the bit to see what it looks like'...you've got them!

Put your 'engagement techniques' into your level descriptions in your blog post.
