Task 5 - Game Dev Schedule

This is the last thing that you’ll need for your Game Design Plan on blog...your Development Schedule.

In your Dev Schedule you basically need to tell us what needs to be done and when.

Terrain Building- Character Development- Gameplay Build- Story Point Dialogue- Play Test- DeBug-

Have a look at the school calendar and decide on some estimated dates for when you’d expect to have each part of your game made. The way you do this is to work out ‘roughly’ how many hours it will take you to create each part of your level. e.g. Level 1 Terrain Build - 3 hours, Level 1 Story Point Dialogue - 1 hour etc.

Great! The above tasks are all you need for your Gamefroot Development Plan. The following are some checkpoints to keep you on track...

Checkpoint 1

  • Discuss with your teacher the suitability of your concept for the target audience and brief.
  • Make any changes you think are needed and update your blog.

Checkpoint 2

  • Discuss with your teacher the suitability and practicalities of your game concept based on your character profile and world building document.
  • Make any changes you think are needed and update your blog.

Checkpoint 3

  • Discuss with your teacher the practicalities of your production log in regards to availability of resources such as time, technology, expertise and game assets.
  • Make any necessary changes to your treatment and write a post in which you critically reflect on the impact of the changes to your production.
